2012's Would You Rather is one of those movies that you may struggle to revisit after an initial watch. Centred around a twisted game that offers up a big payday should you be prepared to do certain questionable things, this David Guy Levy-helmed picture has a soul-crushing twist at its conclusion.

Our 'in' of the film is Brittany Snow's Iris, a desperate young woman who gets roped into this sinister game on the promise of support for her younger brother Raleigh's leukaemia and assistance in finding a bone marrow donor for her sibling.

After all other competitors have died, this game comes down to Iris and Lucas, a fella who'd previously saved Iris and who'd had to slice his own eyeball. For Iris, she can either choose to spare Lucas' life and they'll both leave with nothing, or she can kill Lucas and win the game.

Having agonised over this decision, Iris does indeed shoot and kill Lucas, with her then handed a bag of money and informed that a bone marrow donor has already been found for Raleigh. And with that, she's able to head home, traumatised but with the knowledge that her brother has as good a shot as possible of being saved.

That is, until Iris arrives home to discover Raleigh's dead body, with him having taken his own life in order to stop being a burden on his sister.
