10 Most Surprising Deaths in Horror Movies

Bring Her Back, the second movie from Danny and Michael Philippou, is a truly worthy follow-up to their smash-hit debut, Talk to Me. It's an arresting, haunting, and downright brutal film that follows a pair of siblings, Andy and Piper, as they're adopted by a grieving mother, Laura, who draws them into a sick supernatural ritual. 

Things are never easy for Andy, who has to protect his sister as Laura drives a wedge between them. However, after getting their social worker, Wendy, on his side, it finally feels like momentum is about to swing his way. Sadly, just as he and Wendy are running to get help, Laura blindsides them with her car. It comes out of nowhere, really pulling the rug out from under you. To make this moment even worse, Andy actually survives the crash, albeit barely, only for Laura to then drown him in a puddle. 

This shocking death is a testament to how unrelenting Bring Her Back is. It's a movie that explores the pain of grief and loss, but shows no mercy to its characters.
