10 Sudden Time Jumps In Horror Movies That Completely Change Everything

6. It Chapter Two

Even accepting it isn't exactly a huge secret that Stephen King's It features an epic 27-year time jump mid-way through the story, the fact that Warner Bros. allowed Andy Muschietti to adapt King's novel into two movies gave audiences the luxury of sharing that break in the narrative with the characters.

Granted, it was only a two-year wait in real time for It Chapter Two to materialise, but catching up with the Losers Club almost three decades later, where they're now played in adult form by the perfectly-cast likes of James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, and Bill Hader, was quite the trip.

It Chapter Two was very, very far from perfect, but much of the tale's emotional resonance is baked into that gigantic time jump - namely how Pennywise's (Bill SkarsgÄrd) return to Derry forces the Losers to make good on their childhood pact and reunite to defeat him for good.
