4. Stu Macher - Scream
It's fitting that a killer as wonderfully unhinged as Stu Macher (Matthew Lillard) gets one of the most outrageous deaths in the entire series, when Sid offs him by dropping a giant CRT TV on his head at the end of the first movie.
It's insane enough to even make Billy's death seem a bit pedestrian by comparison, yet as definitive as it seems to be both electrocuted and have one's head crushed by a huge TV, that didn't stop the Stu "truthers" spending an entire 30 years claiming he was still alive.
Even with Scream 7 in our rear-view, there are still those clinging to the risible hope that maybe, just maybe, Stu might still be out there somewhere. Yet this line of thinking really just undermines the final brilliance of his death in the original film - a totally hardcore and excessive death for one of the series' most extra characters.
