8. The Coffee Table
The Coffee Table is one of the most screwed-up horror films of recent years, revolving around a man, Jesús (David Pareja), who accidentally kills his newborn son by dropping him on the sharp end of his new coffee table.
It's a nightmare scenario that basically anyone can empathise with, parent or not, and at film's end it's stated that both Jesús and his partner María (Estefanía de los Santos) died along with their son, the implication being that they took their own lives out of grief.
That's plenty horrible for one movie, then, but let us not forget the fact that Jesús' poor brother Carlos (Josep Maria Riera) witnessed all this alongside his partner Cristina (Claudia Riera).
The strange circumstances of this entire situation are sure to hound Carlos and Cristina forever more, all while Jesús and María are likely tarnished as baby killers by true crime enthusiasts until the end of time.
