20 Horror Movie Sequels Releasing In 2026

It's been a whole 13 years since Wolf Creek 2 came out, and though the Aussie slasher franchise was spun off into a two-season TV series aired between 2016 and 2017, we've seen nothing since from outback serial killer Mick Taylor (John Jarratt).

Wolf Creek creator Greg McLean has talked up a third film many times over the years, with Wolf Creek: Legacy finally being announced in 2024. 

The plot will center around an American family who find themselves preyed upon by Taylor while touring the Outback. When the parents sacrifice themselves to give their kids a fighting chance, the children must survive alone while being hunted down by Mick.

In early 2025, progress was made as Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting announced that they were partnering to distribute the film, which will be directed by Sean Lahiff (Carnifex). With Wolf Creek: Legacy currently slated to release by the end of the year, it's reasonable to assume that shooting will begin within the next few months.

Wolf Creek: Legacy is expected to release in late 2026.
