By its nature, horror is a showcase for the bizarre, grotesque, and sublimely unexpected. Over the past year, genre filmmakers certainly didn't disappoint in unleashing their most twisted visions upon grateful audiences, and from the many hundreds of horror flicks released throughout 2025, the following are the moments that got folk talking, pressed their buttons, and perhaps even had them questioning what the heck they were watching.
These are the 20 biggest WTF horror movie moments of the entire year, ranging from outrageous body horror climaxes to insane killer reveals, unforgettably gnarly death scenes, and insane endings you won't ever be able to forget.
Regardless of how good or bad the rest of each film might've been, these scenes left a deep imprint on the psyche and remain the wildest, toughest-to-shake moments from horror movies over the past 12 months. And so the gauntlet is thrown down to 2026 to try and top all this inspired cinematic madness.
20. 2 Become 1 - Together
The brilliantly gnarly body horror film Together certainly delivered a wild ending you won't soon forget, as after spending the movie being inexplicably drawn together by a supernatural force, couple Millie (Alison Brie) and Tim (Dave Franco) finally accept that there's seemingly no way to escape their predicament.
And so they accept their fate, knowing that there's no way for them to disentangle from one another without one of them dying.
Instead, they get their kit off, slow-dance to the Spice Girls' "2 Become 1" of all things, and let the force do what it's been trying to for the entire movie.
Millie and Tim's bodies are forced together, grotesquely fusing in a mass of flesh which, while not gory per se, is plenty gross in its own right as the duo's physical forms are smushed into a single entity. And while for a moment it seems like the film is going to leave us hanging with what the outcome looks like, the final shot shows "Tillie" - a clear fusion of Millie and Tim's most prominent physical features - answering the door to Millie's parents.
