V/H/S/2 is a WTF experience in two key ways. Firstly, in contrast to most horror anthologies, which are generally inconsistent (including this movie's predecessor), V/H/S/2 is absolutely awesome and so much better than pretty much anyone was expecting. And secondly, yes, the found-footage shorts themselves are freaking mad.

The first segment, Phase I Clinical Trials (directed by the legendary Adam Wingard), is a terrifying ghost story with one of the most unique filming devices in found-footage history: it's filmed through a cochlear eye implant. The second, A Ride in the Park (co-directed by Gregg Hale and Eduardo Sanchez, the elusive co-director of The Blair Witch Project), is a dizzyingly inventive take on a zombie outbreak filmed through the GoPro attached to a zombified cyclist's helmet.

And then, of course, there's Safe Haven (directed by action legend Gareth Evans), segment number three. This one is a brilliantly insane cult-themed horror short that'll have everyone staring at the screen in wonderstruck awe. That is surely one of the best segments in any horror anthology.

The fourth segment, Slumber Party Alien Abduction (directed by Jason Eisener), isn't quite as memorable, but it still delivers some stinging scares, affirming this demented dose of creative chaos as one of the best found-footage films of them all, and definitely one of the most deliciously weird.
