WB ShoWest: FINAL DESTINATION 5 coming, more DC comics-to film, and 3-D movies!

Despite "The Final Destination" opening last summer, which you would think by definition would signal the finale to the already two movies over-done "death is stalking you" slasher franchise; WB President Alan Horn announced plans for a fifthFinal Destination movie at ShoWest out in L.A. The movie, which I'm guessing will be titled Final Destination 3-D is being made because€œwe can€™t resist€, says Horn. Of course he is speaking for himself because I resisted seeing the fourth movie last year, didn't you? /film say Horn followed up with two further announcements of unsurprising news. One, all the studios tentpole movies, superhero films, and big special effects releases, will be distributed in 3D as it is the "studio standard" now. He included Chris Nolan's Batman 3 in this statement. And secondly, Horn mentioned that WB would be filling the massive financial revenue gap in the absence of the Harry Potter movies when the last film is released next summer, with more comic book tentpoles. As I say, who didn't see this coming?

€œAs we ease out of Harry Potter, we hope to bring you the excitement of the DC Library!€
Alongside Green Lantern, Batman 3, Superman reboot - this presumably means adaptations of The Flash and Wonder Woman will finally gain momentum. What Horn doesn't tell you is that he will also continue to seek out, finance and fund new J.K. Rowling-like children's fantasy franchises to take over Potter's place.
