10 Albums Every Hawkwind Fan Should Own

5. In Search of Space

Hawkwind In Search of Space Now we reach the 1971 album that gave us Master of the Universe as featured in the car advert mentioned at the beginning of this article. At this stage the band is very much a Brock / Turner vehicle and apart from Master of the Universe this album also gave us the pounding You Shouldn't Do That. The core rhythmic element was Terry Ollis on drum and Dave Anderson on bass. The music isn't all pounding rock but also a melodic guitar piece from Dave Brock in the form of We Took The Wrong Step Years Ago. The stand-out track though is, of course, Master of the Universe. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3W7ch0oLeA
