10. Deicide - Deicide
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPvRBiQY6lo Who would have thought the sunny region of Tampa, Florida would birth a genre that sounds so menacing and vicious? Deicide are considered to be one of the behemoths of death metal and therefore make a great starting point to divulge into the genre. With their name meaning the killing of a God and song titles such as 'F*ck Your God' & 'Scars of the Crucifix', it's pretty clear the lyrical topics aren't particularly in favour of religion and it certainly comes across in their music. Like most 'classic' bands that feature an extensive back catalogue of studio records it can be difficult to find the first album to dive into, start with Deicide's début record. With a duration of 33 minutes it is the perfect length to get a taste of what death metal has to offer. This album perfectly showcases the aggression that is fundamentally crucial in death metal; an all out assault of the ears through rapid riffs, blasts from the drums and Glen Benton's snarls will make your heart skip a beat. It's brutally brilliant!
