10 Albums You Loved As A Teen (But Should Never Listen To Again)

9. This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours (Manic Street Preachers)

Released: 1998.

Why You Shouldn't Listen: Here's another from 1998, a year when France hosted the World Cup, Google was founded and the iconically crap Furby was on Christmas wish lists for kids everywhere. For alt-rock fans, so was 'This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours' from Welsh whingers Manic Street Preachers.

For their fifth album, the Manics shed the punky sneer of 'The Holy Bible', upped the Britpop feel of 'Everything Must Go' and swung for the Top 40 fences with singles like 'If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next' and 'S.Y.M.M.'. Only joking with that last one; it's one of the worst tracks in Manic's history.

Aside from 'If You Tolerate...' and the Beatles-esque sadness of 'My Little Empire', there's little to love on this smash hit album. The drum sound, which appears to be made up more of samples than actual playing from sticksman Sean Moore, is roundly awful, and tracks like 'Tsunami' and 'I'm Not Working' are disjointed listens.

Disjointed sums this one up.
