Taking something like nostalgia and giving it a tangible form is a tricky and maybe impossible feat. If this is the case then the Arcade Fire and director Chris Milk can pat themselves on the back, because they come very close. With technology making leaps and bounds in progress comes more and more impressive displays of artistic expression. A perfect example is this music video which doubles as an interactive art piece. If this is a sign of the direction music videos are heading, we're all going to a really fantastic place. As an interactive video you can check out here, and one of the better ones to have come out in years, it utilises Google Maps to create a truly personal interpretation of the song for each individual viewer. Asking you to type in your childhood home address, the song has key moments where you will catch glimpses of where you grew up. Memories begin to flood in and for a few minutes we're caught in a moment of reflection. When the interactive screen prompts you to write a message to your childhood self, you may laugh at first but then find yourself frantically scribbling a note to the you of yesteryear. Pair that with the song's wistful tone and you may end up in tears. Be warned.
