10 Artists that Could Headline Glastonbury 2013

5. Mumford & Sons

mumford_and_sons_large This folk-pop quad is one of the biggest bands in the world at the moment. In 2009 their debut album was well received throughout the world and was placed well with the top 10 on US and UK album charts. Their 2012 Album Babel went to the top of the charts in both the United Kingdom and United States and was one of the biggest selling albums on the year. They also embarked on a very successful arena tour in 2012 and are currently playing throughout Europe and North America until Mid-April. Mumford & Sons are already confirmed to be headlining T in the Park this year but acts quite often play both Glastonbury and T within the same festival season. The fact that they are headlining a large festival like T puts them in contention for Glastonbury and other European or world-wide festivals. In a similar vein to Kasabian, Mumford & Sons have progressively worked their way up the festival order at Glastonbury. In 2010 they played third-from-top on the John Peel Stage and by 2011 they were Other Stage Sub-Headliners. Will a Glastonbury headline performance be too much of a step-upwards for them or have they already proved themselves through their current live performances?
