10 Artists That Ended Their Career With One Album

8. Be Here Now - Oasis

At the start of Oasis’ career, Noel Gallagher was adamant that nothing was going to stop their momentum. They had always made it a point to proclaim themselves as one of the biggest bands in the world, and it seemed like they were actually living up to their promise with their first few records. With the whole world at their feet, Oasis tried to go even bigger than was physically possible, and ended up burning out way too quickly on Be Here Now.

Though time has come around on Oasis’ third outing in recent years, the flaws started to show themselves just a few years after its release, with the songs becoming way too long for their own good and some of them leading nowhere like Noel’s featured spot Magic Pie. The real Oasis is still in here somewhere, it just takes a while to find them some of the time, as the songs get more and more chaotic with Noel layering mountains of guitars and glitchy sounds on top of each other that never really get the time to blend properly. This isn’t just a sentiment felt by some random guy on the Internet either.

Ever since Oasis returned from their hiatus in the early ‘00s, Noel made it abundantly clear that he didn’t care for Be Here Now all that much, saying that it’s all too much for him to listen to in one sitting because of just how many layers that he decided to put on every single track. Somewhere in here could very well be Oasis’ greatest album, but this is when the drugs really set in and you start to hear the band going off the tracks a little bit.
