10 Artists That Went Too Far For Classic Songs
5. What's the Story Morning Glory - Oasis
Even in their prime in the '90s, there's a good chance that Oasis never knew how to make an album in the traditional sense. They had already recorded Definitely Maybe three separate times before it sounded right, and the sessions for Be Here Now almost had to be done in secret because of how intense the media hype was surrounding them. While What's the Story Morning Glory may have been the most tame out of the sessions, that didn't mean that everything was all peace and love either.
For the two of you who don't know, Liam and Noel Gallagher don't get along with each other very much, and the work mindset that Noel had didn't really click with Liam's style. In between making songs like Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova, Liam was keen to just go back to the pub when it was free, and on one occasion brought a bunch of his drinking buddies back to the studio as Noel was trying to work.
Coming back from a short break and seeing the mayhem that was going on in the studio, Noel was furious and hit Liam with a cricket bat, driving away all of the drunkards and bringing the sessions to a halt for a few days as everyone else cooled out. This kind of excess should have been enough to break up any other band, but as far as the Gallagher Brothers are concerned, this is basically just another Tuesday for them.
