10 Best Acoustic Hard Rock Songs

5. Seasons Of Wither - Aerosmith

After their first record failed to set the hard rock world on fire, Aerosmith quickly returned to the studio for their follow-up Get Your Wings. With the band just coming off a brief tour, they had started to tap into what would become their classic sound of R&B rhythms mixed with hard rock fury. Even when the group identity was coming further into view, the band still wanted to experiment.

While in the studio, vocalist Steven Tyler found a used guitar in a dumpster next to the studio with some of its strings missing. As he began to tinker with it, he slowly created what would become "Seasons of Wither," one of the album's most moody tracks. Instead of having a signature Joe Perry lick, this song's acoustic guitar part has an almost circular nature to it as it cascades across your speakers. Though there is a more bare bones foundation, the song explodes at the end of each verse as the drums enter and the musical atmosphere is elevated by Tyler's vocal.

Coming from a cheap guitar and a lot of angst, Steven Tyler took what would typically be a lackluster riff and turned it into a mini hard rock epic once he fed it through the crazy world of Aerosmith.
