Tool is without a doubt one of the most mysterious bands to ever see mainstream success. Despite the fact that they've only released 4 albums over a 20 year timespan they've reached legendary status with their cult fanbase and beyond. Tool has never been known to reveal all that much information about their future plans but they did confirm several times during 2013 that they were hard at work recording and Maynard James Keenan himself has teased a 2014 release for the new album. Although their last album was released in 2006, hype for the new album remains at an all time high. Fans can expect that classic signature Tool sound pushed to the brink as Maynard James Keenan talked to Rolling Stone late last year about the creative process and had the following to say: "As an artist you don't want to become a greatest hits version of yourself, either," he said. "You want to push the boundaries. You want to figure out how can you challenge yourself to discover something new, discover something different about yourself. What are your limitations? What avenues can you push and expand? That is life. I don't have any interest in coasting yet." Sounds exciting.
I am a writer/musician and hopeless entertainment addict. I could talk your ear off all day about my vast (albeit completely useless) knowledge of pro-wrestling and then argue with you how the characters in LOST were more important than the plot itself.
