10 Best Cover Songs That Completely Ignored Their Original Genre

10. Children Of Bodom - Oops! I Did It Again

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGtXlBbWeB4 Originally By: Britney Spears In case you're not familiar with Children of Bodom, let me fill you in. They're a Finnish death metal band, straight away I think you can imagine how bizarre it must sound to hear their rendition of a staple hit of modern popular music. Oops! I Did It Again is one of dear Britney's signature tracks, it was a worldwide hit and was instrumental in her ruling the early 2000s with its bad girl attitude and undeniable popular appeal, as well as transitioning her from being a virginal girl-next-door into a provocative young woman. Children of Bodom took the song in a very different direction, their cover actually samples some of Britney's original vocals to contrast with their own as they relentlessly growl the seemingly innocent lyrics. Add some brutal guitar riffs to the mix and you've successfully transformed the song that teenage girls were dancing to in their rooms 14 years ago into an eclectic blend of metal virtuosity. An obscure entry, but you just need to hear it to believe it.
