Avicii True Album

Considering how long Avicii has been around, it might come as a shock that he has only recently released his debut album, True. Expectations might have predicted big club anthems, but the pleasant surprise here is that most of his songs have a slight country influence. Even though that sounds like it would clash and sound horrible, it shockingly works, and it seems the super-DJ may have kicked off a whole new sub-genre. The album of course has his big hit 'Wake Me Up' which is outstanding in its own right, but the other tracks easily hold their own. 'Addicted To You' was the most recent single release and has a more traditional clubby vibe, whereas 'Shame On Me' has the big beats but executes the song in a slightly unconventional way. Mainly relying on fast snapping snares to carry the song forward before a big bass line propels the track forward. An excellent album and definitely worth listening to.
