4.Eaten Alive
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYkhWgdYtjk My personal favourite of Diana's albums is the Barry Gibb produced, Eaten Alive, which also featured the appearance of Michael Jackson. After working their magic on Dionne Warwick's Heartbreaker, Kenny Rogers' Eyes That See in the Dark and Barbra Streisand's Guilty, Barry Gibb and his brothers were drafted in for Diana's 1985 album. The collaboration proved perhaps the strongest of Diana's career, boasting an edgy, fresh sound for the former Supreme - despite never receiving the critical backing it deserved. Title track Eaten Alive was one of the less commercially successful cuts from the album, only peaking at #77 on the Billboard Charts. However, backing vocals from Michael Jackson and the Bee Gees, alongside Diana's ferocious vocal charisma resulted in a truly distinct sound. It's a solid pop track that fared well among the R&B Charts. The video is also one of the most exciting of Diana's career, which is a loose interpretation of HG Wells' The Island of Doctor Moreau (bet you never expected that). It sees an explorer chased by animal-men hybrids ruled over by none other than Queen Diana - she also transforms into a tiger, which is pretty amazing.
