10 Best Female Guitarists Of All Time

8. Jenny Lewis

One of the most beloved and popular figures within the whole alternative music scene, Jenny Lewis is one super talented woman. Capable of wowing audiences with her vocal, guitar, bass, synth or harmonica skills, as well as her majestic wardrobe, Jenny has been active in the music world ever since the formation of her folk/indie rock band Rilo Kiley in 1998.

Jenny was lead singer and rhythm guitarist in the band, but had initially been told that she was only there for back up vocals. In true Jenny fashion, she refused to join up unless she could be on lead.

Even with the eventual disbandment of the band, Jenny continued to go strong. As of 2020, she has released four solo studio albums, all to critical success, sporting all of them with the snazziest vintage hats, retro dresses and and spectacular sunglasses. Her lead single for fourth album The Voyager, Just One Of The Guys, even features Kristen Stewart, Anne Hathaway, Brie Larson and Tennessee Thomas rocking out in sparkling rainbow unicorn outfits!

On top of all of this, Jenny has even somehow found the time for an amazing run of collaborations, perhaps most famously working with Elvis Costello and The Postal Service.

Horror fan, gamer, all round subpar content creator. Strongly believes that Toad is the real hero of the Mario universe, and that we've probably had enough Batman origin stories.
