I'm sure everyone is fairly familiar with the stereotype that men should never cry. And whilst this is obviously an unfair stereotype, it is one that nonetheless often leads to crying men trying to disguise the fact that they are in fact crying.

“I’m Not Crying” plays on this stereotype brilliantly, with the Conchords’ duo singing from the point of view of a man who has just been broken up with trying to explain away the fact that he is crying over a woman. The result is the duo providing a whole collection of hilarious reasons to explain why there are tears on the man’s face, without acknowledging the fact that it is because of his break-up.
