10 Best Hard Rock Guitar Riffs From The 2010s

1. Do I Wanna Know? - Arctic Monkeys (2013)

When a whole crowd sings a guitar part, it becomes a classic.

AM was the album that transformed the indie icons from Sheffield into the internationally recognised rock act that is Arctic Monkeys. The album was full of hip-hop inspired drum beats and bass lines, that set an imposing and sinister atmosphere. But, when it came down to it, it was the lead guitar riffs on this album that made it such a success.

Do I Wanna Know? was the second single, but the guitar riff was by far the most memorable, it felt like an instant classic. A simple riff that made music fans beg the question, how did the great guitarists of the past fail to come up with this riff?

In a time when it's hard to create anything truly original, with almost every modern guitar riff sounding like a bastardisation of something that preceded it.

This track proved there was still plenty of territory for rock guitarists to explore, and sometimes slowly things down, stripping out the flashy parts and just injecting a sh*t load of northern English attitude into a hook is all you need.
