4. Now - Paramore

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G133kjKy91U The use of lighting and colour in this video for 'Now" is impeccably beautiful. A great stand up and fight for what you believe in message. The video starts in a pastel, then grey and colour wash. As the fighting persists we see splashes of colour emphasising the battle. In the end we find Hayley Williams - the lead singer of Paramore - reach out to her oppressors with a hug, clearly surprising him. We see his features begin to soften as well as the light shift from greys to golden, warming the images. This symbolises that violence isn't the answer to change, and sometimes, attacking a problem with empathy can be your greatest weapon. The lyrics in the the song say "If there's a future, we want it now" and from looking at the end of the video with cheering and happiness from both sides, it looks like a little love is all the world needs to enter a future without war and hatred. The video can also be looked in a different way as the lyrics suggest that an internal battle is being fought. I think everyone can relate to this even more. We hit a hard time in life and have to fight the demons in ourselves to find reason to keep on living and bring our "sinking ships back to the shore". Either way, the video is full of action with an empowering message to keep fighting your battles and never give up.

Art is expression, with any possible form of media you can think of. Throughout my life I have experimented with many creative outlets such as music, writing, painting, drawing, sculpting, photography, and film. Recently I have grown to love the art of film. It is a great way to get my creativity working in fantastic ways. I am now working on getting a degree in Communications with a minor in Creative Writing. I will be graduating from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2014 and hope to pursue a masters in film down the road. I have currently started working as a video/audio assistant and technician at my University. I also freelance write, produce and edit stories, poetry, and video. I hope that someday I can produce my own films and work on documentaries focusing on nature and destinations. Life is too short to stop and think. Act, see, and experience the world and it's beauties. There's no better way to do that than seeing it first hand, then reminding yourself later of what awesome things you've seen, by looking through your camera or expressing it in a story.
