10 Best Rock Album Openers Of The 1980s

8. Gimme All Your Lovin’ - ZZ Top (Eliminator)

It's time to step into our big red car and pay a visit to the bearded brethren themselves: ZZ Top.

Though they'd been around for quite some time, the band really broke through into the mainstream with their 1983 album Eliminator. The record combined their traditional roots sound with more conventional rock, and the results were massive.

Leading the charge, was the album's first track and one of their most popular overall.

Gimme All Your Lovin' isn't a particularly deep or meaningful number. It's laden with innuendo (and sometimes just straight-up smut) about how the band members want to have some "nice times" with the ladyfolk.

It's far from Dostoyevsky, but it's a hell of a lot of fun.

With an infectious groove to it and plenty of killer guitar work from Mr. Billy Gibbons, Gimme All Your Lovin' became extremely popular. The music video featuring an ex-Playboy model probably helped things too.

The song set the tone for the rest of the album and did a great job hooking in fans new and old. There was plenty of Lovin' going around for this track when it first came out.
