3. Alt-J - TBA
Release Date: TBA The indie quartet from Leeds released their debut album almost two years ago now in May 2012 and later went on within the same year to receive the Mercury prize for it. Not a bad beginning for a band. Praised for their unique attempt at alternative pop, their debut "An Awesome Wave" was well received, especially within the UK where it went on to reach platinum certification. Meanwhile across in the US, the band have achieved a constantly growing amount of attention with songs such as "Fitzpleasure" and "Tesselate" appearing in shows such as Homeland and Sons of Anarchy. It is with all of this newfound attention, after their well-received first attempt and the spending of most of 2013 playing live shows across the world, that ALt-J have announced that they will finally be going back into the studio to record their second album. Unfortunately however, this comes after the news that the bands bassist Gwil Sainsbury is choosing to leave the band over personal reasons. And while this may seem like a pretty negative start to the year for a band eager to work, Alt-J are not holding back, claiming that they are wanting to start work on their new LP soon, which is set to have a more "complex" sound than their previous release.
