10 Best Rock Albums That Everyone Forgets About

3. Amnesiac - Radiohead

It's hard to really pin down anything that Radiohead has done as being underrated. With only 9 albums to their name, these English masterminds have been behind some of the most celebrated albums in rock's recent history, from the glorious sounds of Ok Computer to the career reinvention that took place around In Rainbows. On the other hand, the easiest albums to forget about are ones that feel like B-sides, with Amnesiac being no exception.

Over the years, Amnesiac has had a bit of a slippery slope in terms of reception, with some calling it the least necessary Radiohead album. Knocked out a few years after their masterpiece Kid A, this is basically a bunch of songs that the band had been working on around the same time when they were envisioning Kid A being a double album. As its own project though, this holds up surprisingly well, with songs like Pyramid Song and Knives Out picking up right where its predecessor left off.

There's also a lot more experimentation on this outing as well, with songs like Packt Like Sardines laying the synthetics on pretty thick and Life in a Glasshouse having a weird funeral dirge that sounds like it could have come off of a Tom Waits record. Though this is not nearly as spellbinding as Radiohead's previous works, it's definitely a lowlight that is worth serious consideration for any rock fan.
