10 Best Rock Bands Of The 2000s

9. The Killers

The early '00s was certainly not lacking in a little bit of nostalgia. With the garage rock revival scene being firmly underway, thousands of artists were throwing it back to the glory days of rock and roll, complete with riffs that felt like they were ripped straight out of the '70s. However, there was just enough room for the more extravagant sides of rock with the Killers.

Off the strength of their colossal debut Hot Fuss, The Killers made some of the most glittery rock music ever conceived, almost as if they had found a happy medium between the heartache of the Smiths and the ominous tones of someone like The Cure. This led to songs that dominated any radio station that would have them, from the story of moving on with Mr. Brightside or the Vegas crash course on Somebody Told Me.

Even when working outside of his comfort zone on Sam's Town, Brandon Flowers proved to be one of the most captivating frontmen in rock today, taking on the '70s pastiches and making the heartland rock epic that Bruce Springsteen would have wished they he had made. Ever since then, the Killers have remained as amazing as ever, bringing their authentic rock worship into the modern age with 2020's Imploding the Mirage. Though they may have started off as just kids, you can really tell that Flowers and co. have earned their rock and roll road stripes.
