10 Best Two-Album Wonders In Rock Music History
9. Kula Shaker
Getting their start in 1995, Kula Shaker were the indie band equivalent of that posh mate who goes on a gap year and won't shut up about it.
Lead singer Crispin Mills was born into showbiz royalty as the son and grandson of actors Hayley and John Mills, respectively. He was also extremely interested in Indian spirituality, which made him an easy target for the discerning music press.
Mills' obsession with mysticism made its way onto the band's first album, K, in the form of two songs featuring the Sanskrit language.
Some people thought it was a bit much that a rich White kid was singing in an Indian language. However, more people didn't care at all and bought the album in droves.
K topped the UK charts and sold enough to go double platinum. Their follow-up, Peasants, Pigs & Astronauts, also reached the top ten.
That was it though, as the closest Kula Shaker would come to another hit was when 2016's K 2.0 got to number 32. You know what they say; the sequel is never as good.
