10 Best Two Guitar Bands
2. Guns N Roses
For all that's been said about Guns N Roses throughout the years, the two guitarists in the band seem to be the ones that are the most reserved about their own abilities. When the band were getting underway in the mid-80's, Slash had envisioned a one guitar band, but was won over when guitarist Izzy Stradlin showed up with frontman Axl Rose.
Slash's way of emoting through his instrument is something that few are able to replicate, as he makes the guitar weep across GNR's greatest tracks. While heaps of praise are poured on Slash for his lead work, the man himself always is unassuming about his role and chooses to avoid the spotlight when it comes to him being mentioned as a guitar god.
At the same time, Izzy Stradlin's approach to rhythm guitar was always a fantastic compliment to Slash, as he channeled the swagger of Keith Richards by way of Joe Perry. Stradlin's influence on the band in the early years turned initial riff ideas into classic songs like "Sweet Child O Mine." While Axl Rose is known as the prominent voice in Guns N Roses, the guitar work of Slash and Izzy Stradlin brought the heart and soul to the band.
