10 Biggest Metal Albums Still To Come In 2019

5. Babymetal - "Metal Galaxy" (11 Oct)

Sentimental WhatCulture office favourites Babymetal are currently preparing to unleash their first album without performer Yui Mizuno, who left the group to pursue a solo career last October. That hasn't slowed them down at all, though: they've since released a graphic novel titled Apocrypha: The Legend of Babymetal, performed at Glastonbury, made plans for big, big tours across the United States and Europe, and, of course, recorded "Metal Galaxy."

The group's formula remains intact on recent releases PA PA YA!! and Elevator Girl. Fans should know what kind of sugary, riffy fun to expect from the kawaii metal troupe at this stage, which isn't a criticism at all. They've nailed their lane, and while whether or not the aforementioned singles will even appear on "Metal Galaxy" remains to be seen, they bode well for anyone awaiting a big shot of adrenaline on 11 October.

There's no word on whether or not Yuimetal will eventually be replaced full-time as one of the faces of the group. Not that this matters musically, though: the five-person instrumental/songwriting core remains intact from 2014's self-titled release and 2016's "Metal Resistance."
