10 Biggest Metal Albums Still To Come In 2019

6. Korn - "The Nothing" (13 Sept)

Korn will release "The Nothing" on the back of something of a critical comeback with 2016's "The Serenity of Suffering."

While that album didn't review as well as the Bakersfield quintet's career-making works, it fared significantly better than anything post-"Take a Look in the Mirror." It succeeded by successfully melding their older, heavier tones with the melody found on releases like "Issues" and "Untouchables," and should provide the blueprint for "The Nothing" too.

Single You'll Never Find Me is very, very Korn. All low, grooving riffs, idiosyncratic percussion, and creepy keys, it incorporates a lot of what you fell in love with in the '90s and, critically, no dubstep. It proves that there's still plenty of life left in the nu-metal titans and that even at this late stage in their career, their energy levels remain high.

Guitarist Brian 'Head' Welch told SiriusXM's Jose Mangin that he hadn't seen frontman Jonathan Davis work so hard in well over a decade. Calling the album "so special," he claims that the frontman's personal tragedies in 2018 (including his wife Deven's passing) have brought a "different passion" to proceedings. Here's hoping this comes out on record.
