10 Biggest Rock Music Feuds Of The 21st Century So Far

6. Neil Young And Spotify

Not all feuds take place between two people or bands - sometimes rockstars take on the biggest streaming platform in the world.

Weirdly enough, this story about Neil Young actually starts with Joe Rogan.

The UFC commentator turned podcasting royalty took plenty of flack during the pandemic for supposedly spreading misinformation about COVID-19 through some of the interviews on his show.

This came a few years after The Joe Rogan Experience was exclusively licensed to Spotify for a very, very large sum of money. Many folks thought that the service wasn't doing enough to stop Rogan spreading lies - one of whom was Mr. Young.

The Canadian rocker threatened to remove his entire back catalogue from Spotify if the streamer didn't remove Joe Rogan from their platform. When they didn't, all of Young's music was pulled.

This inspired the likes of Joni Mitchell and members of Crosby, Stills, and Nash to do the same and brought about several conversations around the service and its action.

This was an incredibly brave stance for Neil to take; one that may have been inspired by a similar campaign 22 years earlier...
