10 Biggest WTF Moments In '80s Rock Music

6. Jim Morrison’s Headstone Is Stolen

Doors frontman and King of the Lizards Jim Morrison broke on through to the other side on the 3rd of July 1971 at the age of just 27.

Morrison's death was pretty shocking, but that happened a good nine years before our decade started. We're more interested in some of the mad things that happened to his gravesite during the 80s.

The captivating singer was buried in Paris, the city in which he spent his final days. His grave is located in the same place as Oscar Wilde's and Edith Piaf's and has become a regular pilgrimage site for fans of The Doors.

In 1981, a Croatian artist named Mladen Mikulin got the approval of the cemetery to place a marble bust of Morrison at his burial site. Seven years later, for some unknown reason, somebody decided it would be a good idea to nick it.

The bust was taken in 1988 and has seemingly yet to resurface. Desecrating the grave of anybody is a big no-no, but to do it to one of the most influential and beloved musicians of modern times?

That's just plain psychotic.
