Yes, she was still technically the lead vocalist on the original, but Destiny's Child was still closer to the all-for-one mold of Percy Sledge or The Pointer Sisters than the one-for-all of Diana Ross and The Supremes. Plus, this was a marked change in the group's sound, making the drastic switch to the club-ready dance music they'd focus on for the rest of their tenure. Gone were the slow, neo soul jams.
