10 Classic Songs With Killer Guest Stars

1. While My Guitar Gently Weeps - The Beatles

The end of the '60s weren't the best time to be in the Beatles. While each songwriter was making bold artistic turns at every corner, they were also butting heads in terms of where they wanted certain songs to go. By the time the band came back for the White Album, things had reached a boiling point, but all that animosity faded away once a new face was brought in.

When showing "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" to his bandmates, John Lennon and Paul McCartney didn't seem all that interested in George Harrison's latest offering. Knowing that the song was pretty good, Harrison tried to break up the tension by bringing his buddy Eric Clapton into the studio to play solos on the recording. Once Slowhand strapped on his guitar, magic struck.

Diffusing any of the tension, the band started to take everything seriously again, with McCartney adding beautiful vocal harmonies and an amazing piano intro. Though Clapton wasn't on the same level as the Fabs celebrity-wise, this is some of the most tasteful playing he had ever put to tape, with each note sounding like the guitar screaming in anguish.

The Beatles' days may have been numbered at this point, but even in their final hours, the band were still able to turn in some of the greatest pop music the world had ever known.
