10 Classic Songs With Killer Guest Stars
8. You and I - Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga's rise to stardom was such a shock to the system when she came out with The Fame in the late '00s.
At a time when most divas were getting a little too polished for their own good or staying too long at the party, Gaga was a true freak of nature who became one of the greatest all-out pop stars of the last decade. She could have gone anywhere after her debut, but Born This Way ended up being her most high-energy album yet.
From one track to the next, Gaga has a a greater venom in her delivery, almost like she's trying to flex her chops at rock vocals, but in terms of truly wowing us, she really saved the best tracks for the end. While "The Edge of Glory" wraps up the album nicely, "You and I" is practically an old school rock and roll song disguised as a pop song, with Gaga getting help from the most royal of subjects.
Right as the song is building to its climax, a guitar solo comes in from out of nowhere played by none other than Brian May of Queen, whose grandiose nature is felt in every other melodic squeal.
Lady Gaga was already one of the biggest stars in the world at this point, but this was when we realized that we would seeing her for many years to come.
