Musicians are often outspoken regarding their beliefs, and while we may scoff at them for doing so, they're just using their platform to fight for what they think is right. That being said, when one cancels a gig because the venue doesn't suit their particulr eating habits, they've gone a bit too far.

Back in 1999, Morrissey was set to perform in Dresden, Germany, but after he learned that the site was once an abattoir, which is a fancy name for a slaughterhouse, he canceled the gig.

Morrissey is one of the most outspoken animal rights activists, and he doesn't eat meat. Canceling the gig in Dresden was probably his way of getting out of a situation he considered disgusting.

It's not the only time he's canceled a performance due to his views. During a performance at Coachella, he stormed off the stage after he smelled meat, saying, "I can smell burning flesh... and I hope to God it's human." The singer did return to finish his set eventually, declaring, "The smell of burning animals is making me sick. I just couldn't bear it."

There's standing by your principles, and then there's desiring cannibalism over a good old fashioned barbecue. At least nobody can say Morrissey doesn't stand behind his beliefs.
