10 Current-Day Music Artists You Should Definitely Be Listening To

5. Joji

"When I'm around slow dancing in the dark / Don't follow me, you'll end up in my arms / You have made up your mind / I don't need no more signs."

Some may know him from Asian hip-hop group 88rising, and some may know him as the infamous internet personality, Filthy Frank. However you choose to associate Joji, there is no denying that he has a knack for music. Combining lo-fi hip-hop beats with crushing lyrics about self-doubt, loneliness and the craziness of his life, Joji promises to become a huge artist in the coming years. He has already enjoyed moderate success with his debut album ‘Ballads 1’, featuring the single ‘SLOW DANCING IN THE DARK.’

Additionally, Joji is the creator of the Harlem Shake phenomena from 2013, during which his YouTube channel, TVFilthyFrank, was beginning to blow up. Eventually, Joji dropped the act entirely, stating that it was a “humor that I started when I was in high school, so naturally, as I got older, I got tired of that humor.” And thankfully, Joji was able to create his own sound and is now one of the artists that you should be paying attention to. Joji’s debut album is available on all major music streaming platforms, as well as his debut EP ‘In Tongues.’

Above is the music video to his popular song, 'SLOW DANCING IN THE DARK'.
