10 Easy Guitar Riffs (That Don't Appear On Other Lists)

1. 20th Century Boy - T-Rex

"20th Century Boy" was a huge hit for T-Rex in 1973, and was one of many hit singles that the band released throughout the beginning of the glam rock movement of the early 1970's. Energetic, powerful and unbelievably catchy, the song has become one of T-Rex's most widely known songs. Marc Bolan's vocals and guitar playing make the song what it is, as his aptitude for songwriting shines through as it does with many of his other songs. Not only is "20th Century Boy" one of the best T-Rex tracks, it is an essential track for those exploring the British glam rock scene.

Two notes. E and G. That's all that is needed to play the main riff of "20th Century Boy". The rest of the song can played with a further three chords, and even the solo is only three notes. For an absolute beginner, this song shouldn't take that long to learn at all, as it's startling simplicity means that it could probably be conquered in no time at all. It's a shame that this song doesn't come up more often when discussing easy guitar riffs, as it's an absolute godsend for any beginner guitarists who are desperately seeking songs to start learning with painless ease.
