https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YSrQlvTfB_4 For fans of: Everything. Okay sure it's a bit too hyperbolic to just put 'Everything', but when the actual list of demographics this track appeals to spans everything from hard rock lovers to Led Zeppelin-worshippers, any who are yet to give it a whirl really should do so. Winner of Best Guitar Solo of All Time from Guitarist magazine, it's a crowning achievement of musicianship that could easily be another Stairway to Heaven if it was released in a different decade. Lyrically Myles wrote it about his friend Mark Morse who sold him his first guitar and sadly passed away, but the song is a fitting tribute to the man who helped kickstart Kennedy's foray into music in the first place. Tremonti knocks it out the park with one of the finest finger-picked intros he's ever written too, and after some suitably weighty chords start moving things along it's a fan-rallying chorus that helps make sure the song doesn't let up for a second. Then there's the solo: a beautiful duelling composition that trades passages between Myles and Mark in a way they'd revisit for Cry of Achilles, yet here it's laced both with the emotional side of writing about a fallen friend, and also lyrics detailing the notion of flying away in relation to the afterlife. The solo itself is a slow-release of perfectly played notes that connote this wonderfully, with Tremonti's section roaring into life following Myles' more slower section, ending the entire composition with a brilliantly fast tremolo-picked section that's reminiscent of Metallica's Jump in the Fire solo - yet even more tenacious.
