10 Even More Perfect 1980s Rock Albums With No Bad Songs
2. Fleetwood Mac - Tango In The Night
Tango in the Night may be the most 'Fleetwood Mac' album that Fleetwood Mac have ever put out.
A band famed for their ups and downs across the decades, this 1987 record sees the Mac completely falling apart in a way that yet again made for a phenomenal collection of songs.
To his immense credit, so much of the brilliance of Tango in the Night is down to Lindsey Buckingham. With the album having actually started off as a Buckingham solo project, he ended up piecing the record together at a time when the rest of the band were dealing with major issues. In particular, Stevie Nicks and Mick Fleetwood were both in the midst of extreme cocaine addiction, and it was left to Buckingham - who also produced the album - to salvage enough usable material from the pair to make things work.
Considering the 18 months of turmoil it took to make Tango in the Night, it's remarkable that the album was so head-to-toe great, with a mammoth six singles being pulled from the record - Big Love, Seven Wonders, Little Lies, Everywhere, Family Man, Isn't It Midnight.
It's also no surprise to learn that Tango in the Night was the Fleetwood Mac project that ultimately led to Lindsey Buckingham quitting the band after becoming so disillusioned with some of his bandmates.
