From films titled 'Killing Bono' to bands named 'Bono Must Die', pop culture likes to take its shots at the Irishman, and rightly so. It all stems from his charity work. 'How can such a charitable person be so hated?' you ask? The fact that his investments in the likes of Facebook led him to becoming a billionaire overnight - whilst simultaneously asking all the rest of us for charity money - has earned him a reputation as a hypocritical little idiot whose moral compass always points towards himself. His onstage ranting about all kinds of crap that you don't want to hear at a rock concert actually deters as many people as the music attracts, and the recent revelation that he and the rest of his U2 bandmates have been moving their affairs offshore so as to avoid paying tax have only alienated people further. To be fair, Bono seems to hate us, too, once saying, "You know, God has some really weird kids, and I find it hard to be in their company most of the time". The feeling's mutual, Bono, don't you worry about that.
