8. Minute By Minute
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmxsNUVFMuk Now, let's show you a softer side, with 'Minute By Minute'. This track blew me away the first time I heard it, and has the same affect every single time I hear it. A lovely acoustic based composition that has a gorgeous string arrangement to add to the very regretful mood. Singing in his higher register, Jamieson puts in one his finest performances here. The, octave lower, backing vocals in the gorgeous chorus add warmth and the falsetto "ooohhhhh", halfway through the middle chorus is one of those tiny details in a song that you wish happened every revolution, but then, the impact might be lost. I always feel this song tells the story of love gone wrong after being so right. A feeling of it slipping from your grasp and you don't quite know how or why. It really is stunning, and one that was, without doubt, going to be on this list.
