10 Great Rock Music Singles That Never Appeared On An Album
9. Hot Love - T-Rex
There's an argument to be made that the song Hot Love by T-Rex was what kicked off the glam rock movement in earnest.
In March 1971, singer Marc Bolan performed the song on UK music programme Top of the Pops, decked out in glittery clothes and makeup. Men had never been presented like this on mainstream TV in Britain before, and it inspired countless others to try this new craze for themselves.
Depending on how much you like glam, this is either a good thing, or a very bad thing.
Though it proved to be very popular and became the band's first chart-topper, Hot Love didn't make it on their album Electric Warrior later that year. In 1972, the group released The Slider, but Hot Love was nowhere to be found on there either.
It turned up on a compilation record named Bolan Boogie that same year, but it never made it to a proper studio release. Honestly, this doesn't matter at all, as the song had already had a huge impact as a standalone single.
Also, it gave everyone an excuse to buy an album called "Bolan Boogie", which is great.
