10 Greatest Albums Of 2016

8. Beyonce - Lemonade

Beyonce is not just another popstar. Though many non-fans lump her in with other popstars like Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, the truth is Beyonce's music is significantly more interesting and accomplished, and never has this been clearer than on her latest release Lemonade.

Lemonade dabbles in a huge host of genres, including pop, reggae, rock, hip hop, soul, funk, country, gospel and electronic - the list goes on and on. You'd think such a variety would cause a discrepancy, but somehow Beyonce manages to pull everything together in a single, unified package. The record also contains inspired features in the way of Jack White and Kendrick Lamar.

Lemonade is simultaneously bombastic and personal, at times a call to arms against a broken, racist system and at times a deep, mournful lament.
