10 Greatest Classic Rock Albums Of The 1970s
4. T. Rex - Electric Warrior
There were many pioneers in the glam rock movement such as Kiss and the already mentioned David Bowie, but few people (if anyone) influenced the genre and its look as much as T. Rex’s Marc Bolan.
However, their influence and the inspiration they sparked has been somewhat downplayed in recent years and the band generally don’t get enough credit considering what they achieved.
‘Electric Warrior’ was the band’s second album under the name T. Rex and sixth overall. ‘Get It On’ was used as the lead single for the album and continues to hold a high presence in the current music industry. To this day, several bands from all levels of rock music cover this great, stomping glam rock tune, proving the album’s longevity in the process.
Thanks to the distinct guitar play, Bolan’s incredible vocals and the unparalleled atmosphere of every song, ‘Electric Warrior’ is arguably one of the most important rock albums ever made.
