ever known. Having been a Metallica fanatic since 1988 I have followed through thick and thin and never wavered. One of the things I love most about their music are their guitar solos, which grace pretty much all their recorded output, bar the album St Anger, where they decided to just not include them (but we won't talk about that). Being a die-hard Metal head, I am of course as huge a fan of guitars and guitar playing as I can be, not being a guitar player. I do love a great solo though, be it, a total shred-fest, melodic and simple or a staggering epic. Metallica has recorded all of these and more. On occasion, lead guitarist, Kirk Hammett will incorporate all of the above into one lead break, and not many soloists in Metal can do this. In this countdown we will look at just ten of the mighty "'tallica's" guitar solos and talk about why they're so awe inspiring.
