10 Greatest Hard Rock Anthems Ever

1. Welcome to the Jungle - Guns N Roses

Since the beginning of time, rock and roll was supposed to be fun. There may have been some darker material creeping in from time to time, but the primary focus was always on whipping the audience into a frenzy from the minute the song started. Some may have come to rock to forget about their problems, but Guns N Roses burst onto the scene proving that rock could be something much more dangerous on Welcome to the Jungle.

In just 5 minutes, the band practically wrote the handbook on what it meant to be a street urchin living on the edge of Los Angeles. Capturing the angst of living off the street, Jungle makes all of the heinous acts of LA feel so much more natural, where drug deals and excess are as much a part of life as the air that you breathe.

Considering the more glamorous and safe acts that were dominating the strip at this time, Welcome to the Jungle was the beginning of rock finding its edge again, with Axl Rose and Slash arriving like a beacon of light through the scene.

Listening to this song can be a rough ride at the best of times, but this is the kind of song that will beat the snot out of you across its runtime and have you begging for more once it's over.
